Mental Health Workshop with WellStone
Huntsville Young Professionals, in collaboration with Wellstone, will host speaker who shares their personal journey with mental health. Attendees have the opportunity to gain insights into the speaker's experiences and the challenges they faced, fostering an open conversation around mental well-being. Wellstone will also introduce their range of services, providing an overview of mental health resources available to the community.

Volunteering with HYP at Downtown Rescue Mission
Join us for a morning of community service at the Downtown Rescue Mission on September 28th! From 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, we’ll be engaging in various volunteering activities to help maintain and beautify the Mission’s facilities. Tasks may include pulling weeds, cleaning windows, raking leaves, picking up trash, and other essential maintenance duties. If it rains, more indoor tasks will be assigned.

Join HYP as we support Free 2 Teach by Volunteering in their warehouse. Additionally we will be delivering all the backpacks we’ve collected on this day.
Backpack Drive donations will be collected at all July HYP events if you’re unable to help in the warehouse but would like to contribute to the drive.
Free 2 Teach provides free resources to students in Madison County’s three public school systems. These resources are available to more than 3,800 full-time classroom teachers and school staff and their 53,000 students, improving the educational experience of our children and strengthening our community’s future workforce. Kayak with HYP
If sailing away and leaving your cares behind floats your boat, join Huntsville Young Profes-sionals as we drift down Flint River in canoes and kayaks!

We will meet at Brown Bear Canoe and Kayak on
Saturday, July 13th at 8:45 AM. Be prepared to board the shuttle by 9:00am.
Price per person is the following:
- $45/person (includes canoe/ kayak rental, paddle, personal flotation device, and shuttle service.
OR
If you have your own boat paddle and life jacket, there is a $18 shuttle fee.
This will be a 4/6 hour trip down the free-flowing waterway with breaks for snacks and lunch depending on the water level trip is 5/8 miles. We plan to take the upper river route (5mi) but if water levels are too low we will do lower river (8mi). This will be an easy paddle, so do not worry about your experience level. Just plan on having a good time!
What to bring:
- Lunch and other snacks
- Cooler (or plan to share a cooler with others)
- Beverage of choice (bring water!)
- Dry-box or ziploc bags for non-waterproof items
- Towel
- Bathing suit
- Sunglasses, hat, etc.
- Sunscreen
- Bug spray
Additional considerations:
-If you carpool, stay with your carpool buddy during kayaking!
-You may want a change of clothes if you plan to jump in the water.

Hiking + HYP
Come hike with us! Enjoy nature and some great company at Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve for about a 1.5 mile hike. If you have never visited the park the directions and entrance can be easily missed. The only entrance is on 72 Westbound (driving towards Huntsville from Scottsboro) and between the green Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve sign and the blue Adopt-A-Highway sign.

The Eggstravaganza is back! Hop over to the Jaycee Building at John Hunt Park for an egg-citing egg-hunting adventure.
Volunteer check-in is at 8AM at the Jaycee Building in John Hunt Park.
Volunteers will help with dropping eggs for hunts and leading outdoor games like Goal Kick, Sack Races, and Egg Races and indoor games like Ring Toss, Duck Grab, and Egg Toss.
Volunteering at the Ellen McAnelly Memorial St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Come join us as we volunteer for the 47th Annual Ellen McAnelly Memorial St. Patrick’s Day Parade! The Ellen McAnelly Memorial St. Patrick’s Day Parade is hosted by the Irish Society of North Alabama, established in June 2010, to promote Irish culture and heritage through education, language, and the arts.
Volunteer activities will be directing traffic and ensuring parade participants get where they need to be. The start time is 9am, and most volunteers will have the opportunity to enjoy the parade once their volunteering shift is complete.
Swing Dancing with HYP
In collaboration with The Rocket Westies, join HYP for a free West Coast Swing dance lesson and an evening of drinks and mingling!
